Job Description

Category Schools - COTA Job Type Contract Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) within a collaborative educational environment. This itinerant, school-based role offers a unique chance to positively impact a diverse K-12 student population by covering a maternity leave for the remainder of the academic year. You'll travel between multiple sites within the district, delivering vital occupational therapy services to approximately 50 students, ensuring continuity of care and support across grade levels.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
Active California COTA license is required Previous experience in a school-based or pediatric setting strongly preferred Familiarity with educational IEP processes and documentation Ability to effectively manage a dynamic caseload ranging from kindergarten through 12th grade Excellent communication, organization, and multitasking skills Comfortable working independently as well as part of an interdisciplinary team
Key Responsibilities:
Provide occupational therapy interventions to students on your caseload in compliance with their IEP goals Collaborate with educators, therapists, and families to facilitate student progress Travel between assigned school sites to deliver services within the district Maintain detailed therapy records, progress notes, and required reporting Adapt therapy materials and strategies to match the needs of diverse learners This full-time position offers the chance to make a measurable difference in the lives of students while building your professional experience in a supportive setting.
