Job Description

Full Time COTA Position is open at Pike Creek Nursing & Rehab Center.

POSITION SUMMARY

Responsible for implementing treatment programs established by the Occupational Therapist in accordance with all state and federal regulations. Collaborates with center staff to promote the highest possible physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being for the patients.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Screens and makes recommendations based on observations of assigned patients as needed. Implements established occupational therapy treatment plans to meet each patient's needs. Collaborates/communicates effectively with other center team members to ensure optimal patient care and progress. Prioritizes responsibilities to ensure effective clinical operations. Demonstrates ability and willingness to attain productivity benchmark. Completes documentation/billing timely, and accurately. Ensures MD orders are obtained according to company policy and procedures.

• Willingly accepts the supervision of Occupational Therapy Assistant students as requested according to state, federal, and Occupational Therapy Practice Act guidelines.

• Reports all instances of abuse or neglect or other concerns to management. Attends and participates in orientation, training, and in-service education, and staff meetings. Ensures all mandatory training is completed on time. Performs other duties as may be assigned by appropriate MFA management. Complies with pertinent laws, regulations, and MFA policies and procedures. Complies with AOTA code of ethics and State Practice Act. Performs duties in accordance with the MFA Corporate Compliance program. Takes an active role in the center's safety and health programs. Is supportive of the state survey process, responding in an appropriate and timely manner. Acts with integrity on all matters. Demonstrates uncompromising adherence to ethical principles and organizational values. Remains professional in appearance, dependability, and interactions with others. Follows through on commitments.

PREREQUISITES, SKILLS, & ABILITIES JOB DESCRIPTION

Must have an Associate's degree. Must demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills. Must demonstrate effective problem-solving skills.
