Category Schools - COTA Job Type Contract Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) supporting students in an educational setting. Located near Cottondale, FL, this position offers a chance to enhance the daily lives of children of various ages, collaborating closely with occupational therapists and school staff to help students succeed academically, socially, and emotionally.
Key Qualifications:
Current certification as a COTA and Florida state licensure (or eligibility) Prior experience in a school or pediatric environment preferred Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective collaboration Ability to follow Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals and therapy plans Organizational skills to manage documentation and caseload efficiently Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic school atmosphere Enthusiasm for fostering student independence and participation
Primary Responsibilities:
Implement therapy sessions under the guidance of an Occupational Therapist Support students with fine motor, sensory, and functional skills necessary for school activities Track data on student progress and assist with ongoing evaluations Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to incorporate therapy strategies in the classroom Modify classroom activities and materials to promote student engagement Maintain accurate and timely documentation as required by school policies Participate in meetings related to student support and progress
