Job Description

Category Schools - COTA Job Type Contract Step into a dynamic school-based role where your expertise as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) will make a real impact on students' daily lives. This full-time, contract position runs from ASAP through the end of the school year, giving you the chance to work hands-on in an educational environment across three varied sites. Your daily schedule will be Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 3:45 PM, supporting a collaborative special education team and fostering student growth and independence.
Desired Skills & Qualifications:
Valid COTA licensure and certification according to state requirements Prior experience or strong interest in working within a school setting Understanding of IEP processes and goal implementation Strong communication skills for collaborating with occupational therapists, educators, and families Ability to travel reliably between multiple school sites in the area Organizational skills to effectively manage caseload and documentation
Responsibilities:
Assist occupational therapists with direct student interventions per IEP objectives Support students in building fine motor skills, sensory processing, and adaptive strategies for classroom participation Implement individualized and group therapy activities under therapist supervision Document student progress and contribute to goal review as part of the education team Provide support and resources to teachers and families for student carryover of therapy strategies Maintain a flexible and positive approach while adapting to the unique needs of each school site This assignment offers an excellent way to expand your professional experience across different school environments, grow your network with educators and specialists, and make a lasting difference for students at a pivotal stage in their development.
