In this onsite position, you'll work 21-28 hours per week across 3-4 days, focusing on helping students thrive in their school environment. You'll collaborate with dedicated special education staff and classroom teams to support the acquisition of functional skills and foster participation within self-contained autism programs. Your impact will be essential in supporting students' access to their education through individualized occupational therapy services. You'll utilize your expertise to address student IEP goals and create an encouraging atmosphere that promotes success and growth.
What You'll Need:
Graduation from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant training program Hold or qualify for Illinois COTA licensure/certification Experience with pediatrics or in a school-based setting is preferred Ability to deliver services in alignment with students'
IEPs Key Responsibilities:
Provide onsite occupational therapy support to elementary students Work closely with special education teams and teaching staff Facilitate students' participation in self-contained autism classrooms Implement therapy informed by IEP goals and track student progress Foster skill-building to support functional independence and learning
