Job Description

Category Schools - COTA Job Type Contract Step into a dynamic role supporting students as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) for the upcoming school years! This contract opportunity offers the chance to collaborate with educators and therapists and truly make a difference in the lives of children and young adults. Starting as soon as possible and continuing through May 28, 2027, this full-time position provides a consistent schedule of 40 hours per week. You'll have the opportunity to be matched with schools and student ages that best align with your skills and interests.
Required Background & Experience:
Active licensure as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) in Indiana Previous school-based experience as a COTA is ideal, but applicants with strong pediatric or educational backgrounds are encouraged to apply Ability to adapt therapeutic activities and communication style to various age groups from early childhood to adolescence Familiarity with IEPs, progress documentation, and collaboration with special education teams Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills Willingness to be flexible and responsive to changing student needs
Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct occupational therapy interventions to students under the guidance of an Occupational Therapist Deliver services individually and in group settings to help students access the curriculum and develop meaningful life skills Assist in developing and implementing therapeutic activities and adapt instructional materials as needed Collaborate closely with teachers, support staff, and families to promote student success Maintain accurate records, progress notes, and contribute to student evaluations as part of the IEP process Support a positive and inclusive educational environment As a valued member of the school community, you'll gain invaluable experience, enjoy a regular weekday schedule, and play an essential role in students' development.
