Category Schools - COTA Job Type Contract Step into an impactful contract role where you'll empower students to achieve their highest potential through occupational therapy support. This opportunity calls for a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) who thrives in a dynamic, itinerant environment. You'll travel between multiple campuses within the district, providing essential assistance to 2-3 Occupational Therapists (OTs) who manage large and diverse caseloads. The assignment begins as soon as possible and runs through late May 2027, offering both stability and variety as you work with dedicated education professionals.
Preferred Skills & Experience:
Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) credentials in Kansas (required) Comfortable working in K-12 school settings Prior experience as a COTA in educational environments is highly valued Strong organizational and time management abilities for itinerant scheduling Excellent communication skills to collaborate with OTs, educators, and families Adaptability and self-motivation with the ability to travel between campuses
Key Responsibilities:
Support district-wide OTs with hands-on interventions, data collection, and student progress tracking Implement therapy activities under OT supervision, adapting plans for individual student needs Assist with documentation, compliance, and reporting to maintain high standards of service delivery Foster supportive relationships with students, promoting independence and participation in academic settings Collaborate regularly with OTs to ensure continuity and consistency of care This position offers a unique chance to make a genuine difference for students while advancing your therapy career in a supportive contract setting.
