Qualifications and Experience:
Current certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) Experience working in school-based or pediatric settings is preferred Knowledge of IEP process and documentation standards Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with teachers, therapists, and families Ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team Valid licensure to practice in North Carolina or eligible to obtain
Key Responsibilities:
Assist occupational therapists in delivering therapy services to students, following individualized education plans (IEPs) Support students in developing functional skills needed for classroom and school participation Document services and progress, maintaining accurate and timely records Participate in team meetings and contribute to IEP development and reviews Adapt activities and materials to meet each student's unique needs and goals Engage with educators and families to carry over therapeutic strategies into daily routines As part of this role, you will positively impact students by fostering independence, participation, and success both in and beyond the classroom.
