Job Description

Discover an exciting full-time opportunity to make a real impact in school-based settings near Mesquite, NM! This role welcomes professionals holding either an Occupational Therapist (OT) license or Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) credential, with 1-2 openings available. You'll work with diverse student caseloads, collaborate daily with passionate educators and families, and contribute meaningfully to student growth and success.
Qualifications:
Current state licensure as an Occupational Therapist (OT) or Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) Experience working with pediatric populations or in school environments strongly preferred Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with students, staff, and families Ability to adapt strategies to meet the varied needs of students Strong organizational skills and attention to documentation Passion for fostering student independence and achievement
Responsibilities:
Deliver direct occupational therapy services to students based on their Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals Develop and implement effective therapy plans and interventions within the school setting Collaborate regularly with teachers, support staff, and families to maximize student progress Participate in multidisciplinary teams to provide input on student evaluations and treatment planning Maintain up-to-date and accurate records, progress notes, and required reports Support students through a variety of caseloads, adjusting techniques as needed Assist in classroom modifications and teacher training to promote accessibility and inclusivity This full-time position offers unique flexibility by considering candidates with either OT or COTA certification, and the chance to influence childrens daily experiences in the educational environment.
