Category Schools - COTA Job Type Contract Discover an exciting contract opportunity for a skilled Occupational Therapist (OT) or Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) just 25 minutes outside vibrant Albuquerque, NM. Support elementary and middle school students in achieving their fullest potential, working with an estimated caseload of 40-50 students. This role invites you to join a school-based team dedicated to delivering high-quality therapy services in a collaborative and nurturing environment.
Key Qualifications:
Active or eligibility for NM RLD and NMPED licenses (assistance for those needing to obtain licensure available) Experience or strong interest in working with school-aged children, especially at the elementary and middle school level Knowledge of evidence-based OT/COTA practices in school settings Effective communication, documentation, and teamwork skills Ability to efficiently manage a caseload and adapt to varying student needs
Primary Responsibilities:
Provide direct and consultative occupational therapy services to students ages elementary through middle school Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to develop and implement effective individualized education programs (IEPs) Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to support student progress and promote a positive learning environment Maintain thorough records, progress notes, and required documentation in compliance with district and state regulations Adapt therapy plans and interventions based on student responses and progress Perks of this
