Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our dynamic healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing OT care to school system students as directed by the occupational therapist and Board of Education. Responsible for providing OT care to school system students as established in the plan of OT care and individual educational plan (IEP). This position requires travel to and, between school buildings. Duties Monitors students response to treatment and adjusts the treatment intervention as needed. Prepares and maintains all documentation as required by NFMMC and the Board of Education. Discuss the students progress with the physician, family, and school system staff as needed. Instructs the student and family in a home program and documents teaching. Assists in scheduling and scheduling conflict resolution. Plans and presents in-service education programs to school system and OT staff. Attends designated meetings, in-service programming and seminars. Maintains certificate/license as required by the NYS Department of Education. Recommends appropriate adaptive equipment, assistive devices and rehabilitation equipment to the student, family medical Doctor and Board of Education. Assists and orientates new employees in forms, policies and procedures. Maintains work environment in a manor conducive to safety. Selects appropriate environment/equipment. Positions the student for maximum comfort, safety and effectiveness. Reacts to change in the student's status in a given treatment session. Administers chosen treatment according to established guidelines. Performs other related duties as required. Qualifications Associated degree Current NYS Occupational Therapist Assistant Certification A minimum of 12 weeks entry level clinical internship provided by an accredited academic institution.

ABOUT NIAGARA FALLS MEMORIAL MEDICAL CENTER
Founded in 1895, Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center (NFMMC) has a long tradition of serving the Niagara community. NFMMC's hospital and primary stroke program are accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Health Care, and its primary care network is accredited by the National Committee for Quality Assurance. Memorial's inpatient services include a cardiac/stroke unit, a medical-surgical unit, an ICU, a Labor and Delivery unit, and an Adult Inpatient Psychiatry unit, the only one of its kind in Niagara County. Memorial serves as a Center for Community Health by operating three primary care centers, a large outpatient adult mental health clinic, a Health Home, and several innovative community-based services. Thanks to a partnership with Catholic Health, Kaleida Health, and Erie County Medical Center, NFMMC operates the only cardiac catheterization laboratory in Niagara County. Memorial is also home to the Golisano Medical Oncology Center, which operates in collaboration with Roswell Park Comprehensive Care Center.
Pay:
$25.78 - $33.32 per hour Expected hours: 75.0 per week
