Job Description Summary:
Provides quality physical therapy services to most diagnoses, including evaluation, intervention and education, program planning and implementation, discharge planning, related documentation, and communication. Associate degree from accredited Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant program. License to practice as a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant in the State of Tennessee. May be exposed to human waste and body fluids, and infectious diseases. Under the direction and supervision of the patient's therapist of record, the assistant provides competent and age-specific services, selected assessment, program implementation, discharge planning, and related documentation and communication. Requires routine supervision with the therapist of record within easy communication. The employee is subject to call back and overtime as required by the hospital.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Plan, organize and adjust the daily schedule to optimally use available time, space and equipment in order to provide the best possible treatment. Utilize the appropriate treatment techniques, based on the latest information available and standards of practice, for selected diagnosis to create and meet the plan of treatment. Maintains sufficient supplies and materials, in working order, for each treatment session. Keeps the treatment area clean and organized. Use appropriate tests and measurements for the patient's age and problems that lead to an accurate understanding of the problems. Develop objective and measurable goals that are supported by the evaluation. Develop a treatment plan that is supported by the goals. Reevaluate and redefine goals and treatment plan in accordance with the patient's needs and per the department policy and procedures. The expectation of Productivity noted in each different cost center/clinic Possible related activities as assigned to include educational activities; ie teaching classes for public or peers; participation in health or community fairs; and/or marketing services to your particular market share.

EDUCATION:
Associate degree from accredited Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant program.
LICENSURE, REGISTRATION, CERTIFICATION
License to practice as a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant in the State of Tennessee.
