Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to patient care, with expertise in assisting occupational therapists in delivering therapeutic interventions that promote functional independence and improve quality of life. As a vital member of our multidisciplinary team, the COTA will support treatment planning, patient education, and rehabilitation efforts across diverse clinical settings, ensuring high standards of safety and personalized care. Responsibilities Assist licensed occupational therapists in implementing individualized treatment plans tailored to each patient's needs. Conduct patient assessments and document progress using electronic health records (EHR) management systems accurately and efficiently. Provide therapeutic interventions that include behavioral modifications, wound care, and hyperbaric medicine support as directed by supervising therapists. Support patient treatment planning by setting up therapy sessions, monitoring patient responses, and adjusting activities within scope of practice. Educate patients and their families on treatment goals, behavioral interventions, and home exercise programs to promote ongoing recovery. Maintain a safe and hygienic environment during therapy sessions, adhering to all health and safety regulations including basic life support (BLS) and CPR certifications. Collaborate effectively with healthcare professionals across disciplines to ensure comprehensive patient care, including telehealth platforms when applicable. Engage with culturally diverse communities to provide respectful, inclusive, and accessible therapy services that meet individual needs. Requirements Current certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) from an accredited program. Valid state licensure or registration to practice as a COTA. Experience working with culturally diverse communities in healthcare or community settings. Knowledge of medical terminology relevant to occupational therapy practices. Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) management systems for documentation and communication purposes. Certification in basic life support (BLS) and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). Familiarity with telehealth platforms for remote patient engagement and treatment delivery. Experience with wound care management, behavioral interventions, and hyperbaric medicine is advantageous. Strong communication skills for effective client interaction and interdisciplinary collaboration. $40.00 - $42.00 per hour
