RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assesses client's condition through all phases of the occupational therapy treatment program on a routine basis.
- Obtains accurate and complete history through clinical observation and interaction with the client.
- Interprets evaluation findings to determine nature and degree of impairment(s).
- Works with OT to establish measurable treatment goals and develop appropriate treatment plans to achieve those goals.
- Reassesses clinical signs and symptoms to determine effectiveness of treatment, progress toward goals, and the need for modification of treatment and/or goals.
- Implements appropriate treatment plans utilizing selected methods to achieve desired treatment objectives, clinical outcomes and goals for patients needing specialized rehabilitation.

- therapeutic and functional methods to promote muscle return sensory re-education muscle facilitation perceptual
- motor integration, activities of daily living and transfer training prosthetic training of the upper extremity orthotic and adaptive equipment fabrication community/social re-orientation.
- Demonstrates knowledge of and ability to utilize occupational therapy competencies relative to musculoskeletal and neurological assessment and treatment procedures.
- Demonstrates an understanding of the cognitive, physical, emotional, and chronological maturation process in the delivery of services to client's
- neonatal, pediatric, and adolescent.
- Considers the patient's physical and cognitive abilities in the selection and administration of treatment procedures for pediatric clients.
Experience New Graduate or (Preferred) One (1+) years of clinical experience as a registered and licensed Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant serving pediatric clients with a variety of impairments to include Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, Apraxia, cerebral palsy, fine and gross motor skill delays, global developmental delays, muscle weakness, poor balance and coordination, handwriting, socioemotional regulation, and other physical and/or cognitive impairments. Education Occupational Therapy Assistant (A.A.S.) educational program approved by the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE) License, Certification, Registration, Insurance Credentialing
- Current and valid license to practice as a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant issued by the Virginia Board of Medicine
- Nationally-certified by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT)
- National Provider Identifier (NPI) required (can be obtained once you are hired)
- Current CPR certification and approved Basic Life Support (BLS) Schedule Weekends Only for Social Skills groups
