Job Description

Category Schools - COTA Job Type Contract Embark on a meaningful contract opportunity supporting students as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) in a vibrant school setting near Ferndale, WA. This full-time position spans 35 hours per week, with hours from 7:00am to 3:30pm, starting August 27th and continuing until the district places a direct hire. As the dedicated COTA for one school campus, you'll work closely alongside the Occupational Therapist to enhance student engagement and success.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
Current COTA certification and state licensure required Demonstrated experience providing occupational therapy services in a school-based setting Strong understanding of IEPs and specialized student needs Exceptional communication and teamwork skills Adaptability and commitment to fostering inclusive environments
Responsibilities & Duties:
Collaborate with the Occupational Therapist to implement individualized therapy plans Deliver direct interventions to students to improve fine motor, self-help, sensory, and functional skills Document student progress and maintain accurate records according to regulatory guidelines Communicate effectively with educators, parents, and multidisciplinary staff Participate in IEP meetings and contribute valuable input to goal planning Adjust techniques and strategies to meet each student's unique needs This contract offers the chance to work at a single school site, providing continuity of care while building trusted relationships with students and staff.
