Job Description

Category Schools - COTA Job Type Contract To Hire Shape your career by supporting K-12 students within a school-based setting as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA). This full-time, contract-to-hire opportunity is based near Olympia, WA, and is entirely on-site, serving multiple buildings across a district-wide caseload. Your expertise will help empower students to access their education and reach their fullest potential. The assignment is set to start around late November—final dates to be confirmed.
Desired Qualifications:
Active Washington State COTA license and NBCOT certification required Experience working with K-12 student populations within schools, particularly in special education contexts, is highly preferred Comfortable traveling between multiple sites as assigned Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills Demonstrated commitment to fostering inclusive, supportive learning environments
Key Responsibilities:
Provide occupational therapy services under the direction of a licensed Occupational Therapist, tailored to students' IEPs and individual needs Deliver therapy sessions in both one-on-one and group settings across elementary, middle, and high school buildings Document services, progress, and outcomes in accordance with school and legal standards Implement strategies that support student participation in academic and daily school activities Collaborate with teachers, staff, families, and other support professionals to enhance student outcomes Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the development of student goals
