Job Description

Optometric Assistant Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Optometric Assistant to join our eye care team. In this role, you will support the optometrists by providing excellent patient service and assisting with various diagnostic procedures. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, eager to learn, and committed to delivering exceptional patient care. On-the-job training will be provided for the right candidate, making this an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in the eye care field. Duties Perform patient work-ups and pre-testing to prepare patients for optometrist exams Assist with patient service and ensure a comfortable, welcoming environment Conduct ophthalmic diagnostic testing, including retina photography, OCT scans, visual field testing, and tonometry Operate ophthalmic diagnostic imaging equipment accurately and safely Support the optometrists during examinations and procedures Ensure accurate documentation of test results and patient information Skills Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on patient service and care Ability to learn and operate ophthalmic diagnostic imaging equipment and testing devices Attention to detail to ensure accurate testing and documentation Good organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently Willingness to learn new skills through on-the-job training Ability to work well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment Basic understanding of eye health is helpful but not necessary; training will be provided This position offers an engaging opportunity to develop skills in eye care while contributing to the well-being of patients. Pay:
$15.00 - $20.00 per hour Expected hours: 32.0 - 38.0 per week
