Vision Care Clinic is the leading provider of optometry services and vision care products across our nine clinic locations. Our Traveling Optometric Technician role is an excellent fit for Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) who enjoy patient interaction but want a position with predictable daytime hours, no lifting, and no overnight shifts. This role keeps you in the medical field while offering a healthier work‑life balance, a supportive team environment, and opportunities to grow your career through certifications such as CPO and CPOA—with all study materials provided. You'll travel between clinic locations based on coverage needs, with drive time and mileage reimbursement from your designated home office. RESPONSIBILITIES
Travel between clinic locations to support patient flow and coverage Use your CNA‑developed patient communication skills to obtain histories and guide patients through testing Assist with pre‑testing and diagnostic imaging (OCT, Retinal Photography, Visual Fields) Provide hands‑on patient education, including contact lens training Maintain clean, organized exam rooms—no heavy lifting required Support clinical teams by bringing consistency and calm to fast‑paced environments Represent VCC's culture of compassion and professionalism at all locations
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
CNA experience working directly with patients Strong communication skills and comfort in medical environments Ability to adapt to changing schedules and clinic locations Tech‑friendly and willing to learn diagnostic equipment Organized, efficient, and calm under pressure Computer literacy and familiarity with medical charting Desire to transition into a medical specialty with no lifting, no nights, and no physically strenuous tasks Optical or optometric experience is a plus, but full training is provided
