Job Overview Note that this position will involve work at both the Gardner (354 Main Street) and Fitchburg locations (33 Electric Avenue). In this vital role, you will assist ophthalmologists and optometrists with patient examinations, operate specialized ophthalmic diagnostic equipment, and ensure smooth clinic operations. Your dedication to patient service, attention to detail, and knowledge of eye physiology will help us deliver exceptional eye care in a professional, caring environment. Duties Prepare patients for ophthalmic examinations by taking comprehensive intake information and documenting medical histories accurately. Perform ophthalmic testing, including measurement of visual acuity, intraocular pressure, and other diagnostic assessments. Operate ophthalmic diagnostic imaging equipment including A-scan biometry and tonometry devices to assist in accurate diagnosis and treatment planning. Perform eye refraction tests to determine prescriptions for corrective lenses, ensuring precise patient assessments. Assist with ophthalmic examinations by applying aseptic techniques, maintaining clinical confidentiality policies, and adhering to HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy. Manage electronic health records (EHR/EHR) systems efficiently, documenting all patient interactions, test results, and clinical notes thoroughly. Support the clinical team by maintaining medical records, ensuring all documentation complies with confidentiality standards and regulatory requirements.
