The doctors and staff here pride ourselves on the personal service we give our patients and utilize our knowledge of the latest advances in prescription eyewear, contact lenses, and eye health to help patients achieve and maintain clear, comfortable vision all day, every day. Our new team member should be comfortable interacting with patients in person and over the phone, as they will be scheduling appointments, taking patient history, and preparing the patient for their visit with the doctor. Experience in the field is required to apply. Technician Duties (may include, but not limited to):
  • Obtaining case history
  • Operating equipment such as auto-refractor, retinal camera, topographer
  • Maintaining electronic health records Administrative Duties (may include, but not limited to):
  • Answering telephones
  • Greeting patients
  • Verifying/filing insurance
  • Scheduling appointments
  • Duties
  • Perform preliminary tests on patients.
  • Take patient medical history and document relevant information.
  • Assist with contact lens fittings and teach patients how to insert, remove, and care for their lenses.
  • Administer diagnostic tests, such as visual field and OCT testing, retinal imaging, and pachymetry.
  • Prepare examination rooms and equipment for patient visits.
  • Clean and maintain ophthalmic instruments and equipment.
  • Provide support to the optometrist during eye exams and procedures.
  • Educate patients on proper eye care and answer any questions they may have.
  • Qualifications
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and understanding of HIPAA regulations.
  • Familiarity with medical office procedures, including scheduling appointments and managing electronic patient records.
  • Basic understanding of medical billing processes.
  • Strong sales skills with the ability to recommend eyewear products to patients.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex concepts to patients.
  • Knowledge of anatomy related to the eye and visual system is a plus.
Pay:
$13.00
