Duties include, but not limited to: Properly greet and work up patients in a timely manner (as soon as patient is checked in and ready), with a friendly, outgoing attitude.

Working up patients to include:

Optomap Photos- Once trained, a consistent quality of photos and OCT is expected. Topcon Pupillary Distance Preliminary Testing- Demonstrating understanding of tests done and why we do them.

Refractions:

Completing accurate refractions for patients with minimal doctor rechecks. Present Chief Complaint to the Doctor. Scribe the encounter for the Doctor. Consistently checking for accuracy in date of encounter, Assessment and Plan notes and coding the exam. Pass the patient off to front desk or to optical with friendly, outgoing attitude.

Other duties include:

Doing Visual Fields as needed. Creating encounters for the next day's patients. Cleaning Encounter sheets as needed and creating them for the next day. Emptying trash at end of day. Cleaning windows and doors of exams lanes and Aquarium. Vacuuming carpets every other day. Sweeping back office hallway Wiping down bathroom at end of day. Stocking exam lanes as needed, including patient letters and forms. Those looking to be a Lead Technician/Scribe will demonstrate the ability to do ALL of the above with high quality performance achieved on a consistent basis. They will clearly exceed position requirements on a regular basis. They will demonstrate the ability to cooperate, work and communicate clearly and compassionately with coworkers, supervisors, subordinates and/or outside contacts. They will accept and respond to change in a positive manner, taking responsibility for their own performance and job assignments. They will demonstrate proper judgement and decision-making skills when directing others and will direct work flow in assigned areas effectively to meet area goals.

$18.00 - $28.38 per hour
