Job Description

Job Summary Kilmore Eye Associates is seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Ophthalmology/Optometry Front Desk Receptionist/Office Assistant to join our team. In this vital role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service while managing administrative tasks efficiently. We are looking for someone who is a friendly, outgoing and is capable of multi-tasking. The candidate we are looking for must be a team player who works well with others to take care of our patients' needs in a timely manner. Duties Greet patients warmly upon arrival, verify appointments, and assist with check-in/check-out procedures using Modernizing Medicine EMR/EHR...we will train the right candidate Schedule appointments accurately and manage patient flow to optimize clinic efficiency Collect and process payments, including medical billing and insurance claims, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations Handle phone communication professionally, providing information about services, appointment reminders, and answering patient inquiries with excellent phone etiquette Support clinical staff by preparing paperwork/charts for upcoming appointments and obtain insurance authorizations Filing, faxing and other office related tasks Qualifications Proven experience in a medical office setting, preferably in ophthalmology or optometry clinics with familiarity in clinic experience and medical terminology Strong knowledge of health insurance processes including Medicare and private insurance plans; familiarity with health information management standards such as HIPAA is essential Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems is preferred Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing; bilingual abilities are a plus Ability to handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously while maintaining professionalism under pressure Prior clinic or eye care office experience is preferred; familiarity with medical administrative support and front desk operations will be highly valued Join our team where your dedication to exceptional patient service combined with your administrative expertise will make a meaningful difference in eye care delivery. Pay:
$18.00 - $22.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
