Duties Greet patients warmly in both English and Spanish, ensuring a positive first impression Manage patient intake processes, including collecting medical histories and verifying insurance information Assist with ophthalmic examinations by taking vital signs, performing eye refraction, and operating diagnostic equipment such as tonometry and A-scan devices Support clinical staff by maintaining ophthalmic diagnostic imaging equipment and adhering to aseptic techniques Document patient information accurately in electronic health records (EHR/Epic systems), ensuring compliance with HIPAA and clinical confidentiality policies Perform basic administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing medical records, and processing billing and coding procedures Provide excellent patient care through direct interaction, answering questions, and explaining procedures clearly Qualifications Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish is required to effectively communicate with diverse patients Prior experience in a medical office or ophthalmology clinic is highly preferred Knowledge of HIPAA regulations, medical terminology, and clinical confidentiality policies is essential Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems is a plus Experience operating ophthalmic diagnostic imaging equipment like tonometers or autorefractor devices is advantageous Strong understanding of anatomy, physiology related to eye health, and ophthalmic patient examinations Excellent patient service skills with a friendly, professional demeanor Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced environment This role is perfect for motivated individuals eager to make a difference in patients' lives through compassionate care and efficient support.
