The ideal candidate will have experience working in an optometric or ophthalmic setting and be comfortable performing patient work-ups, diagnostic testing, and assisting the doctor with patient care. We are looking for someone who is professional, detail-oriented, friendly, and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive patient work-ups prior to the patient's examination with the doctor. Obtain and document patient medical and ocular histories. Perform preliminary testing and diagnostic procedures, including: Visual acuity Refraction/pre-testing Visual fields OCT Fundus photography IOP/tonometry Other diagnostic testing as directed Prepare patients for examinations and assist the doctor as needed. Accurately document test results and patient information in the electronic medical record. Operate and maintain diagnostic equipment appropriately. Explain testing procedures to patients and answer basic questions in a professional and courteous manner. Provide excellent patient care and maintain a positive patient experience. Assist with patient flow and maintain efficient clinic operations. Maintain clean, organized, and properly stocked clinical areas. Follow office policies, procedures, and patient privacy requirements. Perform other clinical and administrative duties as assigned. Qualifications Previous experience in an optometric or ophthalmic office preferred. Experience performing patient work-ups and diagnostic testing strongly preferred. Comfortable working directly with patients of all ages. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a busy office. Dependable and punctual. Professional appearance and demeanor. Ability to work independently while also functioning effectively as part of a team. Previous experience with OfficeMate and/or ExamWriter by Eyefinity is a plus, but not required. Schedule & Compensation Part-time or full-time position available. Some Saturdays are required. Compensation is commensurate with experience and qualifications .
