Summary:
Fills ophthalmic eyeglass and contact lens prescriptions by fitting and adapting both lenses and frames as well as fulfills a number of administrative responsibilities by performing the following duties.

Description of Responsibilities:
The job description and responsibilities are not intended to be an all-inclusive list of duties and standards of the position. Employees in this role will follow any other instructions and perform any other related duties as assigned by the department manager. Fits frames by taking measurements such as Pupillary Distance, Bridge, etc.; and dispenses and adjusts eyeglasses for patient. Assists client in selecting frames according to style, color, and size Provides expertise and recommendations regarding specified lenses, lens coatings, and frames to suit client needs. Accurately read the lenses on the manual Lensometer and document as passed inspection via OSC, in Compulink. Patient Email, Phone and voicemail communication as required. Inventory duties, including entering, pricing, and organizing displays. Determines client's current lens prescription using lensometry/OSC Optical Standards Checklist (when necessary). Balance of Daily Sales sheet to Compulink Payment Report and Daysheet at EOB and scan to management via Optical Daily Sales. Assist with checking in/ out patients among other representative duties Required Experience and/or
Skills:
Possess a minimum of high school diploma or equivalent. Have excellent communication skills; written and oral Able to type at least 45 wpm Are comfortable working in a child-friendly environment Can work independently, and as part of a team. Have excellent communication and customer service skills; English is primary language Have knowledge of and experience with word processing software, and the ability to learn NextGen (EHR) database, spreadsheet software; inventory software, Vision Web software, Tracer software, Compulink, Next Gen/EHR, and Quickbooks software, and Internet software. American Board of Opticianry (ABO) certification recommended
