Job Summary :

The Optician is responsible for all but not limited to the following:

• Assisting patients when choosing eyeglasses and lens options to best suit their needs
• Dispense glasses to patients providing them with any technical support and explanation of any adaptation processes, proper care and any experiences likely to be encountered
• taking any measurements needed to order eyeglasses for a patient
• duties with dispensing include; cleaning lenses, selecting a proper eyeglass case, care for eyeglasses, and frame adjustment.
• Update information of frame inventory, frame cases, repair parts, etc.
• Ordering spectacles/contacts for patients. .
• Assist patients with any needs associated with spectacles.
• Stay up to date with lens options and have a working knowledge of what is best for a patients needs.
• Organizing frame boards
• File insurance claims related to eyeglasses/ contacts and routine vision exams.
• Keep optical area clean and neat at all times.
