The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive eye care services, including vision examinations, diagnosing eye diseases, and prescribing corrective lenses. This role requires a strong commitment to patient care and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Duties Conduct thorough eye examinations to assess vision and diagnose ocular conditions. Provide patient education on eye health, vision correction options, and preventive care. Maintain accurate medical records using EMR and EHR systems, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Collaborate with ophthalmologists and other healthcare professionals to manage patient care. Perform various diagnostic tests, including measuring visual acuity, assessing eye movement, and checking for color blindness. Prescribe eyeglasses or contact lenses based on individual patient needs. Stay updated on advancements in optometry practices and technologies. Ensure a high level of customer service by addressing patient inquiries and concerns effectively. Qualifications Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited institution. Valid state optometry license to practice. Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology related to eye care. Familiarity with optical equipment and techniques is advantageous. Proficient in using EMR and EHR systems for maintaining patient records. Excellent communication skills with a focus on customer service and patient interaction. Ability to perform vital sign assessments and understand medical coding practices is a plus. Aseptic technique knowledge is beneficial for maintaining a clean working environment.
