Our Troy office is seeking a professional, knowledgeable, and patient-focused Orthotist / Certified Prosthetist Orthotist (CPO) / Certified Prosthetic-Orthotic Assistant (CPOA) to join our team. This is a hands-on clinical role focused on evaluating, fitting, adjusting, and providing ongoing support for patients requiring orthotic care. Team members in this position may provide patient care in physician offices, our Troy office, and other medical facilities throughout the Metro Detroit area. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working directly with patients and physicians, values clinical independence and variety, and takes pride in providing high-quality orthotic care. Responsibilities will vary based on the candidate's education, certification, experience, and professional scope of practice. Learn more about us at www.biomatrixortho.com Why Work Here Join a stable, established company with more than 20 years of trusted service Work in a hands-on clinical role where you can directly improve patient mobility, function, and quality of life Enjoy a varied workday that may include physician-office clinics, in-office patient care, fittings, adjustments, and follow-up visits Work collaboratively with physicians, clinical staff, and other members of the patient-care team Work independently while still being part of a supportive, team-oriented environment Opportunity for professional growth and continued development within the orthotics and prosthetics field Enjoy a predictable weekday schedule with a shared weekend on-call rotation Competitive compensation with health, retirement, and paid time off benefits What You'll Do Responsibilities will be based on the individual's credentials, experience, and applicable scope of practice and may include: Evaluate and assess patients for appropriate orthotic treatment Measure, fit, adjust, and provide orthotic devices based on physician orders, clinical findings, and individual patient needs Participate in the development and implementation of appropriate orthotic treatment plans Provide orthotic fittings and follow-up care in physician offices, our Troy office, and other clinical settings throughout Metro Detroit Educate patients and caregivers on the proper application, use, care, and maintenance of orthotic devices Evaluate device fit, function, comfort, and effectiveness and make adjustments as clinically appropriate Perform follow-up visits, modifications, repairs, and adjustments to optimize patient outcomes Communicate professionally with physicians, therapists, clinical staff, patients, and internal team members Accurately complete patient evaluations, fitting documentation, clinical notes, measurements, and other required medical records Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with company, payer, accreditation, and regulatory requirements Coordinate with internal clinical and administrative staff to ensure timely and appropriate patient care Provide courteous, compassionate, and professional support throughout the patient-care process What We're Looking For Strong clinical and patient-care skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Professional, compassionate, and patient-focused approach Strong clinical judgment, organizational skills, and attention to detail Comfortable working directly with patients, physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a clinical team Ability to manage a changing patient schedule and work across multiple clinical locations as needed Comfortable using electronic medical records and other technology for clinical documentation and communication Strong understanding of proper documentation and compliance requirements related to orthotic patient care Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record Certification / Qualifications Candidates with one or more of the following qualifications are encouraged to apply: Certified Orthotist (CO) Certified Prosthetist Orthotist (CPO) Certified Prosthetic-Orthotic Assistant (CPOA) Certified Orthotic Assistant (COA) Orthotics and Prosthetics resident or other qualified O&P professional whose education and experience are appropriate for the position Certification through a nationally recognized orthotics and prosthetics credentialing organization is preferred where applicable.
