About Us Biomatrix Orthopedics has been serving patients across Michigan for more than 20 years as a trusted provider of orthotics, prosthetics, and durable medical equipment (DME). Our Troy office is seeking a reliable, professional, and patient-focused Orthotic Fitter / Medical Equipment Specialist to join our team. This is a hands-on, patient-facing role that may include clinical orthotic fitting, medical equipment delivery, and patient support. Depending on experience and operational needs, team members may work in physician offices, our Troy office, patient homes, and medical facilities throughout the Metro Detroit area. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working independently, staying organized, interacting with patients, and having variety in their day. A healthcare or patient-care background is strongly preferred—for example, experience as a physical therapy assistant, athletic trainer, medical assistant, orthopedic technician, orthotic fitter or in a similar clinical setting. Previous experience with orthotics or medical equipment is preferred, but we are willing to provide full training for the right candidate. Learn more about us at www.biomatrixortho.com Why Work Here Join a stable, established company with more than 20 years of trusted service Work in a hands-on role where you can directly improve the patient experience Enjoy a varied workday that includes physician-office fittings, in-office patient care, and field-based equipment delivery Receive hands-on training in orthotic fitting, medical equipment, patient education, and documentation requirements Work independently while still being part of a supportive, team-oriented environment Enjoy a predictable weekday schedule with a shared weekend on-call rotation Competitive compensation with health, retirement, and paid time off benefits What You'll Do Perform orthotic fittings and provide patient education in physician offices, our Troy office, patient homes, and other medical facilities throughout Metro Detroit Fit and adjust orthopedic braces and other medical equipment based on physician orders and patient needs Educate patients on the proper use, application, care, and maintenance of orthotic devices and equipment Deliver and set up durable medical equipment for patients in their homes and medical facilities Communicate professionally with physician offices, clinical staff, patients, and internal team members Accurately complete patient charts, fitting documentation, delivery records, and other required paperwork Maintain, sanitize, organize, and track medical equipment and supplies Manage daily schedules and travel routes while remaining accurate, organized, and on time Provide courteous and timely support to patients and healthcare providers What We're Looking For Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Professional and patient-focused attitude Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Comfortable working directly with patients in clinical and home settings Ability to work independently and manage a changing daily schedule Comfortable using technology for patient records, routing, scheduling, and communication Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs
