Up to $30,000 Sign-On Bonus for Highly Qualified Candidates Decatur County Hospital is seeking an experienced Paramedic to provide advanced patient care to critically ill or injured patients both in the field and during transport. This position also provides patient care within the Emergency Department and assists with other hospital duties as needed. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong clinical judgment, professionalism, and the ability to perform effectively in high-stress situations.

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver emergency and critical care to patients in pre-hospital, transport, and hospital settings. Assess, treat, and monitor patients according to established protocols and scope of practice. Assist Emergency Department staff and support patient care throughout the hospital. Respond to emergency situations and maintain ambulance readiness, equipment, and supplies. Complete required documentation and maintain compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards.

Minimum Qualifications:

3+ years of paramedic experience required; 5+ years strongly preferred. Active Paramedic certification through the State of Iowa or National Registry. Current ACLS, PALS, and BLS certifications required. Critical Care Paramedic (CCP-C) certification strongly preferred. Mandatory Reporter certification within 6 months of hire. NRP certification within 1 year of hire. Current Iowa Class D driver's license and insurable driving record. Decatur County Hospital is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
