Full-Time Compensation:
$29.75/hr + 10 cents per year of EMS Experience Position Summary Penfield-Webster Ambulance is hiring full-time Paramedics to join our team responding to 911 calls throughout the Penfield and Webster area. This is a hands-on field role providing advanced life support, patient care, and leadership on scene, with a direct line to our Chief Paramedic on ALS matters. Benefits

  • 85% Medical Insurance premium covered Essential Responsibilities The Paramedic is responsible for, but is not limited to: Patient Care
  • Administer advanced life support and medical care to patients on scene, during transport, and at the hospital, in accordance with NYS DOH and MLREMS protocols.
  • Transport sick and injured patients safely to the appropriate medical facility.
  • Complete patient care reports accurately and within the required timeframe.
  • Serve as a preceptor for EMT-Basics and for Paramedics when qualified by MLREMS. Vehicle & Equipment
  • Operate agency ambulances safely.
  • Maintain the accountability, cleanliness, and operational readiness of ambulances, equipment, and supplies, including EMS inventory. Communication & Compliance
  • Monitor communication equipment to maintain contact with dispatch, operations, and other responders.
  • Follow all NYS DOH, DOT, OSHA, and MLREMS protocols and agency policies, escalating clinical matters to the Chief Paramedic.
  • Participate in the agency's Continuous Quality Assurance (CQA) and Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) programs. Required Qualifications
  • Current NYS EMT-Paramedic Certification
  • Valid NYS Class D Driver's License
  • Ability to meet NYS EMS Essential Job Functions
  • Ability to maintain all required certifications throughout employment Required Licenses & Certifications
  • Current
AHA BLS CPR
Certification
  • Current ACLS Certification
  • Current PALS, EPC, or equivalent certification
  • Current PHTLS, ITLS, or equivalent certification
  • NIMS 100, 200, 700, and 800
  • Completion of all NYS-required EMS updates
  • Completion of all MLREMS-required updates Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Successful candidates should demonstrate:

  • Sound judgment and problem-solving under pressure.
  • Ability to adapt to changing conditions in a fast-paced EMS environment.
  • Professionalism, a courteous demeanor, and a commitment to teamwork and patient care. Physical Requirements The Paramedic must be able to perform the following essential physical functions, with or without reasonable accommodation:
  • Lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling patients and equipment.
  • Frequent bending, kneeling, reaching, climbing, and prolonged standing or walking.
  • Safely operating emergency vehicles and patient transport equipment.
  • Working indoors and outdoors in various weather and emergency conditions.
Working Conditions Work is performed in ambulances, stations, healthcare facilities, and outdoor environments. Employees may be exposed to infectious diseases, bloodborne pathogens, hazardous materials, adverse weather, emotionally stressful situations, and physically demanding emergency scenes. PPE is provided and required.
