Provide personalized fitness programming, instruction and support to help customers meet their individual goals and objectives while delivering a high level of customer service. Works under the direction of the Fitness Coordinator.

The following duties and responsibilities are not all inclusive. Other duties may be assigned. Planning, implementing, and evaluating private and semi-private personal training sessions. Perform consultations and fitness assessments. Resourcefully motivate clients to reach their goals and maintain effective communication with clients and staff. Provide professional, safe and effective demonstrations while offering ongoing motivation and feedback. Demonstrate appropriate modifications of exercises and assist participants in setting attainable goals. Create enthusiastic and energetic workout environments while providing specific emphasis on safety and proper execution of movements. Remain current on the trends of the industry. Provide adequate supervision of the participants. Represent the Fort Lupton Recreation Center in a positive light, follow all county policies and procedures. Assist in recruitment, retention, program marketing, and special events. Perform safety inspections of the activity premises and the equipment and materials used. Report any observed safety deficiencies.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

One or more years of related experience preferred. Demonstrate a strong working knowledge of cardiovascular and resistance training instruction, flexibility training, functional training, safety/spotting, fitness testing, and general nutrition. Experience working with teenagers and adults of all ability types High school diploma; preferred college course work in health education, fitness/nutrition or public health Ability to communicate effectively with customers to understand and fulfill their goals and needs. Exhibit enthusiasm and vitality for the assigned position. Ability to communicate clearly with co-workers and supervisors. Ability to follow Recreation Center policies and procedures. Experience:

Certified instructors must possess a current Fitness Certification from an accredited agency. American Red Cross Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), First Aid and Automatic External Defibrillator (AED) certifications or the ability to obtain within 30 days of employment.

Working Conditions:

Requires day, evening and weekend hours. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, bend, squat, climb, kneel, twist, grasp, push, pull, talk, hear and see. Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds.
