Job Description

Chevy Chase Club is seeking an enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and results-driven Personal Trainer to join our Fitness & Wellness team. The Personal Trainer is responsible for designing and delivering individualized fitness programs that help members improve their health, performance, and overall quality of life. This role combines evidence-based exercise programming, relationship building, wellness coaching, and exceptional customer service to create engaging and effective fitness experiences for members of all ages and fitness levels. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive fitness assessments, movement screenings, and goal-setting consultations. Design and implement individualized exercise programs based on members' health histories, fitness levels, and personal objectives. Provide one-on-one and small group personal training sessions using safe and effective exercise techniques. Monitor member progress and adjust programs based on performance, feedback, and evolving goals. Educate members on exercise principles, recovery strategies, lifestyle habits, and healthy behavior change. Utilize fitness technology, wearable data, and performance tracking tools to enhance member engagement and outcomes. Foster a welcoming, motivating, and inclusive environment that encourages member success and retention. Build strong professional relationships with members and serve as a trusted wellness resource. Maintain accurate client records, session notes, assessments, and progress reports. Identify opportunities to expand training participation and wellness program engagement. Collaborate with Fitness & Wellness staff, instructors, and health professionals to support member wellness initiatives. Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety throughout fitness facilities and training spaces. Stay current with industry trends, exercise science research, and continuing education opportunities. Assist with special events, fitness challenges, wellness workshops, and other departmental programming. Ensure all training services are delivered in accordance with Club policies, professional standards, and risk management practices. Qualifications Nationally accredited Personal Training certification (NASM, ACE, ACSM, NSCA, ISSA, or equivalent). Current CPR/AED and First Aid certification. Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Health Promotion, or related field preferred. Previous personal training experience in a fitness, wellness, country club, or hospitality environment preferred. Experience working with diverse populations, including active older adults, beginners, youth athletes, and special populations preferred. Strong understanding of exercise programming, anatomy, biomechanics, and injury prevention principles. Excellent communication, motivational coaching, and customer service skills. Comfortable utilizing fitness technology, scheduling software, and performance-tracking tools. Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
