Part Time School Yoga and Creative MovementTeacher Oneness-Family School Chevy Chase, MD Job Details Part-time $50 an hour 12 hours ago Benefits Health insurance Employee discount Flexible schedule Qualifications School experience Interpersonal skills Yoga English Certified Yoga Instructor Working with students Yoga instruction Teaching Full Job Description Creative Movement and Yoga Teacher Oneness-Family School | Rockville, MD Part Time About Oneness-Family School Oneness-Family School is a Montessori independent school serving children from preschool through 12th grade in Rockville, Maryland. For nearly three decades, we have been committed to nurturing the whole child, supporting not only academic growth but the social, emotional, and physical well-being of every student in our community. We believe that how a child feels in their body is deeply connected to how they learn, relate to others, and grow as a human being. About This Role We are seeking a warm, creative, and grounded Creative Movement and Yoga Teacher to join our community and bring the joy of mindful movement to our youngest learners. This role serves children from age three through third grade, a time in a child's life when the relationship between body, breath, and imagination is at its most naturally open and receptive. This is an opportunity to help children develop body awareness, emotional regulation, focus, and a lifelong love of moving and breathing with intention. The right person for this role understands that for young children, learning happens through play, story, music, and movement, and they bring that understanding into every class they teach. What You Will Do You will design and teach age-appropriate creative movement and yoga classes that invite children to explore movement, express themselves, and build confidence in a joyful and supportive environment. You will weave together breath work, imaginative movement, yoga poses, and mindfulness practices in ways that feel natural and engaging for each age group, from our youngest children in the Children's Peace Garden to our Arbor students in the primary grades. You will collaborate with classroom teachers and our Director of Curriculum and Primary Programs and our Director Of Elementary Program and Student Affairs to support individual students and integrate mindful movement into the broader culture of well-being that is central to life at Oneness-Family School. You will also contribute to our community during school events and special gatherings where movement and celebration go hand in hand. Who You Are You are someone who loves children and understands the particular magic of the early childhood and primary years. You bring patience, playfulness, and presence to your teaching, and you know how to hold a room full of three year olds with the same skill and grace you bring to a class of eight year olds. You have training in yoga and movement, ideally with a certification in children's yoga or early childhood movement. Experience working in a school setting is a plus, but what matters most is your ability to connect with children and create a space where they feel safe, seen, and joyful. You share our belief that well-being is not something we teach in isolation. It is something we live together every day. Qualifications Yoga certification is required, with training in children's yoga strongly preferred. Experience working with young children in an educational, therapeutic, or movement-based setting is essential. A warm and grounded presence, strong communication skills, and a genuine love of community are at the heart of what we are looking for. To Apply Please send a resume, a brief letter of introduction, and any relevant certifications to Karen at . We would love to hear about your experience with children and what drew you to the work of mindful movement.
