Full-Time We are seeking a compassionate and creative Recreation Leader / Recreation Therapist to join our skilled nursing facility team. This position creates meaningful recreational and therapeutic programming that promotes residents' physical, emotional, cognitive, and social well-being. Responsibilities of Recreation Leader /
Recreation Therapist:
Plan, organize, and lead engaging daily activities for residents based on their interests, abilities, and individual needs. Develop and implement group and one-on-one recreational programs, including arts and crafts, music, games, exercise, social activities, entertainment, and special events. Encourage residents to participate in activities while adapting programs for different cognitive, physical, and functional abilities. Build positive relationships with residents and create a welcoming, engaging environment. Coordinate with nursing, social services, rehabilitation, and other departments to support residents' overall care and quality of life. Maintain accurate activity documentation and records in accordance with facility requirements. Assist with planning holiday celebrations, resident events, outings, and other special programming. Monitor resident participation and provide feedback regarding residents' interests, needs, and progress. Qualifications for Recreation Leader /
Recreation Therapist:
Previous experience in recreation, activities, therapeutic recreation, or a related field, preferably in a skilled nursing or senior living setting. Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Creative, energetic, and compassionate approach to working with seniors. Ability to develop activities appropriate for residents with varying physical and cognitive abilities. Recreation Therapy, Therapeutic Recreation, or related education/certification is preferred. Experience working with residents with dementia or other cognitive impairments is a plus. Why Join Us?
