Part-Time Reformer Pilates Instructor The Guild Pilates Plus Knoxville, TN Job Details Part-time | Contract From $25 an hour 19 hours ago Benefits Continuing education credits Free fitness classes Qualifications Pilates instruction CPR Certification BLS Certification Comprehensive Pilates Teacher (NCPT) Teaching AED Certification Full Job Description Overview The Guild Pilates Plus is seeking one or more part-time Pilates instructors to join our team. We are a welcoming boutique studio where every body is already the right body for Pilates. Our classes emphasize functional strength, mobility, and long-term well-being. With no more than eight clients in a class, our instructors can provide thoughtful attention while building genuine relationships with the people they teach. We are especially interested in instructors who can teach early mornings, evenings, or Sundays. Candidates do not need to be available for every one of these time periods. We are open to hiring multiple instructors to meet the studio's scheduling needs. The Role This position will primarily teach group Reformer Pilates classes for beginner and experienced students. Opportunities to teach other formats, private sessions, and semi-private sessions may be available based on training, experience, and studio needs. Most instructors begin with approximately two to six recurring classes per week, although the number may vary based on availability and schedule needs. Some substitute availability is also expected. What We're Looking For The right instructor will: Make every client feel welcome, particularly those who may feel intimidated or unsure about beginning Pilates Teach safe, thoughtful, well-structured classes appropriate to the advertised class level Offer clear instruction, helpful modifications, and appropriate progressions Be attentive to different bodies, abilities, movement histories, and goals Be warm, reliable, prepared, and professional Communicate promptly with studio leadership about scheduling, substitutions, client concerns, or equipment issues Instructor Responsibilities Arrive approximately 15 minutes before each scheduled class Remain briefly afterward to assist clients and prepare the studio for what comes next Greet clients and help first-time visitors feel comfortable Teach classes that begin and end on time and align with the assigned format and experience level Reset equipment and help maintain an orderly, welcoming studio Maintain a reliable recurring teaching schedule Assist with finding an approved substitute when unable to teach, whenever possible Be available for occasional substitute teaching Participate in relevant studio communication, training, and continuing education Teaching private or semi-private sessions is not required, but it is a welcome additional qualification. Qualifications Comprehensive Pilates certification and previous teaching experience preferred Reformer-certified candidates will also be considered Recently certified instructors are encouraged to apply Strong understanding of anatomy, movement principles, modifications, and contraindications Ability to safely demonstrate movements and provide appropriate verbal and hands-on guidance Current CPR/AED certification required before teaching Successful in-person teaching audition required for finalists We are willing to consider a newer instructor who demonstrates strong preparation, sound movement knowledge, openness to feedback, and a natural ability to help clients feel at ease. Compensation is provided per group class or private session and is based on training and experience.
