PART-TIME YOGA TEACHER

For the first time in several years, Flow Motion is looking for a new yoga teacher to join our team. We are looking for a reliable, caring teacher whose strengths and teaching style feel like a natural fit for Flow Motion and our students. We are a therapeutic spa and yoga sanctuary in Ferndale with a long history of instructors staying and growing with us. We value our teachers as individuals and do our best to match their strengths and interests with class styles and modalities they genuinely enjoy teaching. About the Opportunity We are currently hiring a yoga instructor to teach a Thursday evening class from 5:30-6:30 PM. This is an infrared-heated class, so consistent Thursday evening availability and comfort teaching in a heated environment are required. We may also have a non-heated opportunity open as well. We would especially love to find someone comfortable teaching Yin style and traditional flow-style yoga, with Vinyasa experience. Our students tend to enjoy approachable classes that provide some challenge while remaining welcoming to a wide range of experience levels. This is an employee position with Flow Motion, not an independent contractor role. What We're Looking For Beyond teaching a thoughtful, well-prepared class, reliability and personal responsibility are important to us. Our evening yoga teacher is trusted to arrive early and prepare the classroom, leave the room clean, stocked and ready for its next use, and make sure the building is secure before leaving. There are no front desk or sales duties. Teachers are focused on teaching. We are looking for someone who is: A certified yoga instructor; Yoga Alliance registration is not required Dependable, grounded, responsible and attentive to their surroundings Comfortable independently managing their classroom before and after class Warm and welcoming while maintaining professionalism Interested in creating a consistent experience for returning students Available Thursday evenings on an ongoing basis. Other days are a possibility Professional liability insurance naming Flow Motion as an additional insured will be required before teaching. Bonus Skills & Interests We are completely open to someone who simply wants to teach one great class each week. At the same time, there can be opportunities to grow into additional classes or other areas of Flow Motion for someone who is interested. Experience with - or genuine interest in learning more about - any of the following is a bonus, but absolutely not required: Other yoga styles Aerial yoga Guided meditation or Yoga Nidra Breathwork Mobility or recovery-focused movement Sound baths or sound healing Vibroacoustic sound therapy Other mind-body or energy-based practices We don't believe in forcing someone into a modality that isn't a natural fit. If you have interests or skills that complement what we already offer, we would rather explore where those talents could naturally grow. Room to Grow Flow Motion is more than a traditional yoga studio. Our environment includes aerial yoga, infrared heat, a Himalayan salt cave, sound and vibroacoustic therapy, meditation, energy work and therapeutic spa experiences. For someone who would eventually like additional hours, opportunities may become available in teaching, special events, sound-based experiences, spa support or other behind-the-scenes roles based on individual skills and interests. Additional employee spa and class perks are available for team members who meet minimum work-hour requirements. Compensation Dependent on training and experience.
