Job Description

Job description TRIO Pharmacy is a full-service long term care pharmacy seeking a dedicated individual to become a part of our team. A pharmacist not only plays a pivotal role of ensuring the pharmacy's daily operations are completed but assist in the education and training of nursing and pharmacy staff. We are looking for someone with great communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and leadership capabilities to manage this area of the pharmacy. The staff pharmacist will work closely with the pharmacist-in-charge to help identify areas of improvement and create innovative solutions for pharmacy workflow and processes. We would love to have you join our outstanding team and help TRIO Pharmacy to continue to grow and excel! Is responsible for, but not limited to:
  • Maintain pharmacy compliance per regulations as set by Board of Pharmacy and other governing bodies
  • Review medication orders for accuracy and appropriateness of therapy
  • Educate nursing staff on proper medication administration
  • Help to establish, coordinate, and maintain daily workflow functions
  • Assist in management of patient medication therapy and collaboration with nursing staff and prescribers to ensure appropriate therapy or alternatives to therapy
  • Prepare non-sterile and sterile compound admixtures
  • Assist facility staff in use of automated emergency kit
  • Provide ongoing staff support and development
  • Maintains adherence to company policies and procedures, department requirements, safety standards and good housekeeping standards.
  • Other duties as assigned or requested by management
Professional Experience:
  • State Registered Pharmacist - State of Iowa
  • Knowledge of Pharmacy Operations and Workflow
  • Knowledge of Pharmacy Software Program(s)
  • Detail Oriented
  • Ability to Multitask
  • Team Oriented Individual open to new ideas and views
  • Ability to handle difficult or emotional staff needs
  • Strong communication skills and problem-solving skills
  • Responds to requests for service and assistance for both internal employees and external customers
Job Type:
Full-time Pay:
$60.00 - $72.00 per hour
License/Certification:
Iowa Licensed Pharmacist (Required)
