Responsibilities Oversee day-to-day pharmacy operations and supervise pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, interns, and support staff. Review, verify, and dispense prescriptions accurately and safely. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local pharmacy laws, controlled-substance regulations, and company policies. Maintain all required pharmacy licenses, registrations, records, logs, and regulatory documentation. Provide patient counseling on medications, proper use, possible side effects, interactions, and adherence. Communicate with prescribers, healthcare providers, insurers, and patients to resolve prescription-related issues. Establish and maintain appropriate workflow, staffing, scheduling, and quality-control procedures. Train, coach, and evaluate pharmacy personnel while promoting a professional and collaborative workplace. Oversee inventory, medication storage, purchasing, recalls, returns, and expiration-date controls. Maintain accurate controlled-substance records and support inventory reconciliation and audits. Implement procedures to prevent medication errors and address incidents in accordance with applicable requirements. Monitor pharmacy performance and identify opportunities to improve patient service, efficiency, and profitability. Support immunization and other clinical pharmacy services where authorized and offered. Serve as the pharmacist responsible for pharmacy operations and regulatory communication, as required by applicable state law.
