Category Pharmacy - Pharmacist Job Type Contract A new opportunity is available for a licensed pharmacist to support diabetes pharmacy clinics within the Lawton Service Unit in the Oklahoma City area. This role offers a rewarding contract position focused on delivering specialized pharmaceutical care to patients managing diabetes. Candidates holding any valid pharmacist license are eligible, reflecting the inclusive standards of the Indian Health Service.
Location:
Lawton, OK Responsibilities:
Dispense medications accurately and safely to patients, ensuring adherence to diabetes therapy protocols. Collaborate with healthcare teams to optimize patient care plans for diabetes management. Provide patient counseling regarding medication use, side effects, and diabetes-related education. Maintain comprehensive patient records in accordance with clinical and regulatory standards. Participate in clinic operations to support timely, efficient patient service.
Qualifications:
Valid pharmacist license from any jurisdiction (in line with Indian Health Service requirements). Experience in pharmacy, preferably with exposure to chronic disease management such as diabetes. Strong communication skills for effective patient and interdisciplinary team interactions. Commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care within a collaborative clinic environment.
Contract Details:
Immediate start preferred. Initial duration of 1 year with up to four 1-year extension options, providing long-term potential.
