Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and adaptable Floater Pharmacist to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive pharmaceutical services across multiple pharmacy settings, ensuring seamless patient care and medication management. Your expertise will support various departments, including acute care, community pharmacy, and long-term care facilities, contributing to optimal health outcomes. This position offers an exciting opportunity to utilize your diverse pharmacy skills in a fast-paced environment while promoting exceptional patient service and regulatory compliance. Duties Deliver pharmaceutical care by dispensing medications accurately and efficiently across different pharmacy settings, including hospital, LTC (Long-Term Care), and community pharmacies. Conduct patient assessments to determine medication needs, review medical histories, and ensure appropriate therapy management. Compound medications following USP 797 standards and aseptic techniques to prepare sterile products such as IV infusions and injections. Manage pharmacy operations including inventory control, medication storage, and ensuring drug regulation compliance. Provide immunizations and participate in medical management initiatives to support patient health and wellness programs. Utilize Pharmacy Information Systems (PIS), Electronic Health Record (EHR), and Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems for accurate documentation and medication tracking. Educate patients on medication administration, potential side effects, and adherence strategies while maintaining clinical confidentiality policies in accordance with HIPAA regulations. Assist in managing pharmacy teams by providing guidance on pharmacy procedures, regulatory standards, and customer service excellence. Support acute care activities such as pain management, IV insertion, infusion therapy, and patient care coordination within hospital or clinical environments. Ensure compliance with state and federal pharmacy laws, drug regulation policies, USP 797 standards for sterile compounding, and healthcare compliance protocols. Qualifications Valid pharmacist license with current practicing credentials in the relevant jurisdiction. Critical care experience or hospital pharmacy background preferred; LTC pharmacy experience is a plus. Demonstrated clinical pharmacy experience including patient assessment, medical management, and medication therapy review. Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, pharmacology principles, and medical terminology. Proficiency with pharmacy software systems such as
PIS, EMR/EHR
platforms, and inventory management tools. Experience with compounding medications using aseptic techniques; familiarity with USP 797 standards essential. Certifications in basic life support (BLS) or advanced cardiovascular life support (ACLS) preferred. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and healthcare professionals. Knowledge of drug regulation laws, HIPAA confidentiality policies, and pharmaceutical regulatory compliance requirements. Ability to adapt quickly across multiple pharmacy environments while maintaining high standards of accuracy and safety. $69.00 - $75.00 per hour
