Category Pharmacy - Pharmacy Manager Job Type Contract An immediate need exists for an interim Pharmacy-in-Charge/Director of Pharmacy at a small, 25-bed critical access hospital located in rural Northern California. This contract opportunity offers a unique chance to lead pharmacy operations in a close-knit hospital setting, primarily focusing on staffing with some administrative responsibilities.
Location:
Clearlake Oaks, CA Schedule:
Four 10-hour day shifts per week
Duration:
Approximately 13 weeks, starting as soon as possible
Key Responsibilities:
Verifying medication orders to ensure accuracy and safety Supervising pharmacy technicians and managing daily workflow Consulting with physicians and nursing staff on medication therapies Applying pharmacokinetic principles to optimize patient care Managing about 90% staffing duties and 10% administrative tasks
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
Valid California Pharmacist license Prior experience working in a hospital pharmacy setting Strong leadership skills and ability to manage a small team effectively Proficiency in order verification and medication safety protocols Excellent communication skills for collaboration with healthcare professionals This contract role suits a dedicated pharmacist eager to contribute to patient care in a rural healthcare environment through direct engagement and leadership.
