Category Pharmacy-Director of Pharmacy Job Type Contract An interim leadership opportunity is available for an experienced pharmacy professional to serve as Director of Pharmacy (also PIC) in a hospital setting located in Nacogdoches, Texas. This contract assignment begins August 3rd and extends for approximately three months. The role operates on a Monday through Friday day shift schedule with no weekend or on-call duties required. This position demands proven inpatient acute care expertise combined with strong management skills. The pharmacy team includes one clinical pharmacist, several PRN pharmacists, full-time and PRN pharmacy technicians, providing a collaborative environment to support pharmacy operations. The facility utilizes Cerner/Siemens for order entry and Omnicell automation systems.
Key responsibilities:
Provide administrative leadership as Director of Pharmacy, overseeing staffing and daily pharmacy operations Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and promote quality patient care Coordinate and facilitate pharmacy in-services and staff development Maintain a positive and professional work environment adhering to a business casual dress code Qualifications and desired experience: Licensure to practice pharmacy in Texas (required) Active Pharmacy-In-Charge (PIC) credentials Management experience in an inpatient acute care setting Familiarity with Cerner/Siemens order entry systems and Omnicell automation preferred Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills This contract offers a rewarding chance to impact pharmacy services and patient outcomes while leading a dedicated pharmacy team in a supportive hospital environment.
