Job Description

Category Pharmacy-Director of Pharmacy Job Type Contract An opportunity is available for an experienced pharmacy leader to provide interim Director of Pharmacy (DOP) and Pharmacist-In-Charge (PIC) coverage at a behavioral health hospital in North Texas. This contract position will begin October 1st with approximately a 13-week duration, overlapping with the outgoing DOP to ensure a smooth transition and maintain operational excellence.
Location:
Greenville, TX Work Schedule:
Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM, plus on-call duties Occasional weekend coverage Saturday and Sunday, 6:00 AM - 11:00
AM Key Responsibilities:
Oversee pharmacy operations for a licensed 54-bed behavioral health facility specializing in adult care (18+) Manage a pharmacy team including full-time, part-time, and per diem pharmacists and technicians Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, including preparation for upcoming State Board and Joint Commission visits Lead staffing efforts and maintain seamless pharmacy services until permanent DOP onboarding Collaborate with committees as required by the Director of Pharmacy role Participate in overlap training with outgoing leadership
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
Active Texas Pharmacist license required Proven leadership experience as a Pharmacy Director or Pharmacy Manager, preferably in inpatient settings Behavioral health pharmacy experience is highly advantageous Familiarity with hospital order entry systems (HCS) and automation technology (Omnicell) is a plus but not mandatory Ability to work independently while providing strong team support and direction
