Job Description

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
(include but are not limited to the following)
  • Access, input, and retrieve information through the pharmacy dispensing system to maintain accurate records and efficiently fill prescriptions through third-party insurances.
  • Promotes customer satisfaction through response to customer perceptions of services provided in a professional and constructive manner. Ensures departmental culture is responsive to patients and families.
  • Properly manage inventory and analyze drug supplies, replacing outdated, deteriorated medication and depleted inventories.
  • Develop and demonstrate commitment to advanced pharmacy services provided by technicians.
  • Communicate effectively with various healthcare providers, patients, and insurance companies
  • Record dispensing information and maintains accurate notes in patients' medication profiles.
  • Set up, operates and maintains repackaging equipment and supplies. Package, label, and maintain proper records of repackaged medications.
  • Read physician's orders and prepare medications for dispensing.
  • Retrieve, pour, count, label, and reconstitute prescription medications.
  • Obtain refill authorizations from prescribers.
  • Use information from patients' records to replenish medications and exchange medications in patient care areas according to schedule.
  • Order medications and supplies from approved vendors.
  • Compile, process and compute prescription charges and credits for patients of the pharmacy
  • Perform inspections of medication storage areas according to pharmacy policy.
  • Recommend process improvements for increased efficiencies.
  • Display and promote company values.
  • Regular attendance.
  • Other duties as assigned.
