Category Pharmacy - Pharmacy Technician Job Type Contract To Hire A position is available for an experienced Pharmacy Technician in an outpatient retail pharmacy environment. This opportunity offers a contract to hire arrangement, working Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The role involves using Pioneer RX computer systems and supports pharmacy operations in processing medication orders, packaging, dispensing, and assisting pharmacists with both educational and clinical responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

Accurately process medication orders and dispense pre-manufactured dosage forms. Utilize systems for the proper storage, preparation, and dispensing of medications in compliance with established health system policies. Support pharmacists in patient, physician, and nursing education. Assist in retrieving timely and accurate drug information. Collect patient-specific data to aid pharmacists in optimizing pharmacotherapy, including screening for IV to oral conversion, renal dosing adjustments, allergies, and non-formulary prescribing. Obtain clinical pharmacokinetic data and calculate creatinine clearance when appropriate to support therapeutic medication regimens.

Qualifications and Experience:

Minimum of 1 year pharmacy technician experience. Experience in a hospital outpatient pharmacy setting. Familiarity with pharmacy insurance claims processing. Valid Illinois pharmacy technician license.

Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
