Job Description

Position Summary Long-term Care Pharmacy looking for a hard working, dependable, detail-oriented pharmacy technician - fill technician to join our team. This position is responsible for accurately and efficiently preparing medications for residents of assisted living, skilled nursing, and other long-term care communities. The ideal candidate is organized, productive, comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, and committed to accuracy and patient safety. Experience in long-term care pharmacy is preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate. Key Responsibilities Accurately fill prescriptions according to pharmacy procedures and pharmacist direction. Prepare medications for long-term care residents using appropriate packaging systems, including unit-dose, blister/bingo cards, and other compliance packaging. Select the correct medication, strength, dosage form, quantity, and packaging for each prescription. Maintain a high level of accuracy while meeting daily production expectations. Assist with cycle fills, routine refills, new orders, and STAT or urgent medication requests. Prepare medications for pharmacist final verification. Replenish and maintain medication inventory in filling and production areas. Monitor stock levels and communicate shortages, out-of-stock medications, and inventory concerns. Check expiration dates and assist with inventory rotation. Maintain clean, organized, and properly stocked workstations. Assist with medication returns, credits, and restocking when appropriate. Follow pharmacy workflow procedures to ensure prescriptions are completed accurately and on time for scheduled deliveries. Work collaboratively with pharmacists, technicians, packaging staff, order-entry staff, and delivery personnel. Follow HIPAA requirements and maintain confidentiality of patient and facility information. Follow all applicable federal and state pharmacy regulations and Edgeway Pharmacy policies and procedures. Perform additional pharmacy technician duties as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. Must meet all applicable requirements to work as a pharmacy technician in North Carolina. Previous pharmacy technician experience preferred. Long-term care, closed-door, mail-order, or high-volume pharmacy experience is a plus. Experience with automated or compliance packaging systems is a plus. Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy. Ability to work efficiently in a production-oriented environment. Ability to prioritize tasks and meet established deadlines. Dependable attendance and punctuality. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive filling and packaging tasks. Ability to lift and move pharmacy inventory and supplies as required. Hours Monday-Friday 9am-6pm. Rotating Saturday schedule.

$15.00 - $20.00 per hour
