Pharmacy Manager / Director of Operations Position Summary The Pharmacy Technician - Data & Reporting Specialist supports pharmacy operations through accurate data management, reporting, inventory oversight, and patient service support. This role combines traditional pharmacy technician responsibilities with advanced analytical and reporting functions to assist leadership in monitoring performance, identifying trends, improving workflows, and ensuring regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and proficient in data collection, analysis, and report development. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Pharmacy Operations Assist in preparing and dispensing medications in accordance with state and federal regulations. Process prescription orders and maintain accurate patient records. Manage medication inventory, including ordering, receiving, stocking, and reconciliation. Support medication prior authorization and prescription refill workflows. Ensure compliance with HIPAA, pharmacy regulations, and organizational policies. Address patient and provider inquiries professionally and efficiently. Data Analysis & Reporting Collect, validate, and maintain pharmacy operational data from multiple systems. Develop and distribute routine and ad hoc reports related to pharmacy performance. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), including: Prescription volume Prior authorization turnaround times Medication adherence metrics Revenue and reimbursement trends Inventory utilization and waste Patient satisfaction metrics Analyze data to identify trends, gaps, opportunities, and workflow improvements. Create dashboards and reports using Excel, Power BI, Tableau, or similar reporting tools. Present findings and recommendations to pharmacy leadership. Ensure data accuracy and integrity through auditing and quality control processes. Support regulatory, compliance, and accreditation reporting requirements. Administrative Support Maintain reports, databases, and documentation. Assist with operational projects and process improvement initiatives. Collaborate with clinical, billing, and administrative teams to improve service delivery. Participate in meetings and provide operational insights based on data analysis. Qualifications Required Current Pharmacy Technician certification and registration as required by state regulations. High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum of 2 years of pharmacy technician experience. Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including: Pivot Tables Data validation Charts and reporting functions Experience collecting, analyzing, and reporting operational data. Strong organizational and analytical skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Preferred Experience in specialty pharmacy, outpatient clinic, or ambulatory care setting. Experience with Power BI, Tableau, SQL, or other reporting platforms. Knowledge of pharmacy revenue cycle, prior authorizations, and medication management programs. Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, Information Systems, or related field.
