Shift Details:
Working 8-hour shifts between the hours of 8:00am-7:00pm. Weekend rotation roughly every 4-6 weeks and some holidays.
Job Summary:
Provides technical and clerical assistance to the pharmacist in the processing of medication orders and the monitoring of drug therapy. May procure, measure, compound, count, and deliver medications under the supervision of a pharmacist. Functions within the guidelines of the Wisconsin Statutes and Administrative Code - Pharmacy Examining Board - Pharmacy Practice Sections.
EXPERIENCE DESCRIPTION
A minimum of 1 year of work experience in a hospital pharmacy department is preferred.
EDUCATION DESCRIPTION
High School diploma or equivalent is required. Graduate of an accredited pharmacy technician training program is preferred.
LICENSURE DESCRIPTION
Application for Wisconsin registration as a Pharmacy Technician is required by hire date and must be obtained within 12 months of hire. Staff hired into this role prior to 3/31/23 must have applied for Wisconsin registration by 3/31/23 and have until 3/31/24 to obtain registration. Certification as a Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) through passing the Pharmacy Technician Certification Boards exam (PTCE) or the National Healthcareer Associations exam (ExCPT) is preferred.
