This is a full-time, 40+ hour-per-week position, Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, demonstrates strong leadership, and is comfortable working independently. The ideal candidate will have excellent phlebotomy skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to maintain an organized, professional, and patient-focused environment in a fast-paced setting. Key Responsibilities Perform venipuncture and specimen collection on patients of varying ages and difficulty levels Demonstrate confidence with difficult draws and hard sticks Verify patient identity and accurately review laboratory requisitions and test orders Properly identify required collection tubes and specimen requirements Accurately label specimens and ensure patient information matches laboratory documentation Centrifuge, aliquot, process, refrigerate, freeze, and otherwise prepare specimens according to laboratory requirements Package and prepare specimens for pickup, transport, or delivery to the appropriate laboratory Monitor specimen integrity and help prevent labeling, processing, and handling errors Check patients in and maintain an efficient patient flow throughout the PSC Maintain accurate logs, records, and required documentation Monitor supplies and communicate inventory needs before supplies become depleted Maintain a clean, organized, safe, and professional collection area Follow HIPAA, OSHA, infection-control, bloodborne-pathogen, and company policies and procedures Communicate professionally with patients, providers, laboratories, couriers, management, and other team members Assist with resolving specimen or laboratory-related issues when necessary Take ownership of the day-to-day workflow of the assigned PSC Serve as the Phlebotomist on site and help ensure Prime Draw Specimens' standards are consistently maintained What We're Looking For The right candidate is someone who can be trusted to manage their responsibilities without constant supervision. You should be punctual, dependable, organized, professional, and comfortable making appropriate day-to-day decisions within your role. You must be able to work efficiently during busy periods while maintaining accuracy and providing patients with a professional and positive experience. Strong communication skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure are essential. Qualifications Previous professional phlebotomy experience required Strong venipuncture skills, including experience with difficult draws Knowledge of specimen collection, processing, handling, and preparation for laboratory transport Ability to identify common collection tubes and follow test-specific specimen requirements Ability to work independently and manage priorities Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Professional communication and customer-service skills Reliable attendance and punctuality Comfortable working in a fast-paced healthcare environment Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and follow HIPAA requirements Must meet all applicable state requirements for performing phlebotomy
